Last weekend, we enjoyed the first “Growing Table” dinner, hosted by our neighbors at Rocklands Farm, featuring a fantastic meal prepared from their very own farm produced food and drink. Initiated as a once-a-month event, it provides a community gathering place for friends from the area and members of their CSA, (Community Supported Agriculture, a program that provides participants with a weekly supply of fresh produce.)
Roasted Suckling Pig with Chimi Churi
Peas, Radish and Goat Cheese
Kale Salad with Creamy Garlic Dressing
Gemmeli with Nettle, Scape and Walnut Pesto
Broccoli Raab, Mustard Greens, Toasted Garlic,
The Food is served family style.
Flowers, bread and wine, all straight from the farm to the table!
Joel and his wife, Megan live on the premises and help to manage the farm, along with Greg and Anna.
Strawberry Rhubarb Ice Cream with Balsamic Drizzle!
As darkness falls in the Seneca Valley, friends old and new linger over the homemade dessert wine and conversation.
The launch of the Growing Table is a sweet success!
